The Guide To Living Fearlessly
Recently we were exploring the subject of money on our group programme.
In the past I would have talked about this subject in terms of a mindset game, equipping people with suggestions on the right books to read to develop your “Wealth consciousness” or money mindset.
But none of that makes sense to me anymore.
You see there were times when I was making money and I definitely wasn’t reading the “right” books to do so, nor was I feeling wealthy in consciousness.
I was sharing my message.
I was serving and not afraid to put myself out there.
It had nothing to do with following someone else’s formula that promised me I’d get rich if I behaved in a certain way.
Looking back though I bought into the “formula” because I was insecure.
Caught up in the idea that I wasn’t enough and forgetting my true nature, I felt I had to become someone else to get what I wanted, to behave accordingly, speak consciously, use affirmations to succeed and hang out in the right places.
Like most humans, I was clearly very afraid.
Afraid of my experience and this led me to spend a lot of time controlling circumstances and my mind.
What an exhausting way to live.
Then something happened to me that shifted my experience of money and life 180 degrees the other way.
I came across a new paradigm in psychology known as the Three Principles.
This understanding spoke so deeply to me and pointed me back to where my experience of money (and everything in life including fear) was coming from.
That through the principle of Thought I made up my experience of this world.
This was so freeing to me as I saw more clearly the rules I’d bought into, the way I’d been looking at this big serious thing called success and money.
As I began to wake up to my thinking, the need to control my mindset started falling away.
It no longer made sense to affirm my way to financial success, to work on or improve myself to get what I wanted, to be a Nazi about my schedule to succeed.
No longer afraid of my experience and seeing a deeper truth about where success, joy and wealth comes from, a new freedom opened up.
I knew this freedom was truly alive when a few “serious” things happened that once would have been my worst nightmare.
I missed credit card payments.
I got a call from the bank to say that my account would be closed.
My parents found out.
At one point I was even on the other side of the world with no cash coming in!
In all these situations I noticed I wasn’t afraid.
I wasn’t trying to escape the experience, desperately trying to affirm my way out of the situation and use techniques in a bid to control my feelings or change my mindset.
Instead I was relaxed and certain.
Certain that all was OK and that any worry or fear I might feel was simply feedback that my thoughts were taking over, not evidence that something awful was going to happen.
It’s not that I didn’t take any action to remedy the situations I was in, but whereas before I would have been stressed out, having sleepless nights, trying to fix the “problem” immediately, now I was free from living with such fear and insecurity .
And that’s the power of Thought.
You can have a totally new experience of anything at any time, what looks scary and serious to you now, can and will change.
And with that change we walk in a new reality.
A truer reality of certainty, solutions, wellbeing and peace.
