The Guide To Getting Started
Sometimes a girl’s just got to start.
Start coaching, start meditating, start dating or whatever it is for you.
Until you make a start you’ll forever block yourself with questions like:
‘Do I have what it takes?”
“Am I good enough? “
“Can I afford it?”
And so on.
Truth is it takes way more effort and energy to start a project than to carry it through, making all the aforementioned psychobabble a short term thing.
In fact many of us would become instantly unstuck if we just got down to business by doing what we say we want to do.
Instead we overwhelm ourselves with worry and “what if”?
Then you wonder why 3 months later you’re still in the uncomfortable comfort zone, scrimping for cash and wearing Primark (Wal-Mart) , bored out of your mind with what you do.
If it helps, everyone suffers this starter syndrome, even geniuses like Chanel and Hepburn had a hard time battling the start.
Christ ! Every time I’m about to write a blog post I have to fight all of the above fears and then simply make a start.
(I admit the idea of having to wear Primark gets me into action fast).
So stop giving into your fears and overwhelm and instead connect to your purpose and read the tips below, it’s time to just get started because with that single step you’ll build your business, develop your style and watch your career and life inspiringly grow.
The Guide To Getting Started
Use your (fashion) sense.
Like building your perfect wardrobe, starting any project requires one gorgeous step at a time.
Write a list of possible first steps you could take to get started and then choose the most inspiring step to dedicate your time to at the beginning.
Conceive and achieve
Ideas and desires have much more force and power at their time of conception . Write out your desire /idea in great detail and what achieving it ultimately lead to for you?
See this clearly and hold the vision of your achieving this every time your faced with a start on the idea or project.
Reward your inner child
Treat yourself like a kid and have a reward waiting for you at the end of completion. When I finish this blog I’ll be enjoying a delicate creamy espresso and watching the sun sparkle through the trees, our creativity needs rewards so consider what you will do to reward and celebrate starting anew?
Walk it out
Sometimes a 30min walk alone can help you clarify exactly where to or how to start, don’t let it become a time waster though, go walking with your idea and when you come back you’ll be clear and ready to start.
Select service over self
Whatever you’re procrastinating on you’re doing so because your attention is on yourself.
Consider how you accomplishing, giving or achieving this objective is going to serve others not just you. Now make that start.
