5 Ways To Escape The Rat Race & Do What You Love
I’m writing from Paris this morning after a wonderful time in London recently where I had the pleasure of presenting to a great audience.
The focus of the presentation was on escaping the rat race and so this week’s guide is related to just that.
If I could make the leap from the 9-5 death job and now wake up in different Cities and live in Italy doing work I love, I know you can too.
The question is are you ready to spend all your time, energy and money on creating just that?
This week’s guide will get you there.
1) Make the decision.
Until you decide you’re going to get out no matter what you can’t be fully supported in your desire.
Too many intelligent people don’t have the guts to make a full decision and they’re busy waiting for the right time, the right amount of money and the perfect circumstances.
These things don’t arrive until you’re on purpose doing what you love!
Action: Write a list of all the pain and suffering you’re in right now and decide if you’re willing to keep going with it?
2) Focus on the why not the how.
Instead of thinking about how you’ll make more money and how you’ll find the next step focus on why you want to get out in the first place.
Action: Consider the pain you’re currently in and the pleasure you’ll receive as a result of making the leap. What’s your biggest why for leaving? Let that determine your exit.
3) Choose action over anxiety.
Contemplating the odds and living with “what if” is a result of low self-trust and lack of self esteem, it’s also your greatest block to creative action, the very thing that’ll give you the freedom you seek in your career life.
Action: Next time you catch yourself doubting and fearing and contemplating the odds instead take a small action that will help you accomplish your dream.
4) Create a power statement.
A PS is not an unrealistic super positive affirmation but a statement you believe in and can repeat daily in the present tense to awaken assistance from the Universe or God. What starts within is made real without.
Mine was “I am now in a new environment (Italy) doing what I love”(Mentoring). It took 6 months of repetition before I received my result.
Action: Write yours. Repeat daily. If you can’t be bothered to commit to this you’r kidding yourself about leaving.
5) Be prepared to become present and mindful of all you say and do.
If you can’t be bothered to focus your attention on leaving the rat race and then to subsequently focus your attention on generating money doing what you love then I suggest you stay where you are.
Being FREE is a full time job on its own and requires you to have mindful thoughts and action which you must be prepared to embrace if you’re to be successful doing what you love.
Action: 1) Consider the benefits of staying in your current job with the salary you have. Now consider the drawbacks of doing so. Which one do you prefer?
2) Get support and get into what you love even faster!
